6-week Indoor Spring Pickleball League - Thursdays @ Capitol Hill
Join our 6-week indoor adult Spring pickleball league!
When: Every Thursday from April 12 - May 24, 2018 (no games May 3rd)
Where: Miller Community Center, on Capitol Hill in Seattle, WA
Cost: $180 Per Doubles Team
Time: 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm depending on skill level - Check out each division description below to determine what level you and your partner should register for.
Each Doubles Team plays best out of three games each week - approximately one hour. Start time is determined based on what division you register for. You play a new team every week, with a championship game on the last week.
$180 price is for a team of two players. Must be 18 years or older to play.
Different Skill Level Divisions: (Register as a doubles team)
6pm: Novice - Players who are new to the game, as well as, those who have played a little and can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability. Demonstrating the basic shot strokes – forehand, backhand, volley, overhead and the serve, but has obvious weaknesses in most strokes. Players rated under 2.0.
7pm: Intermediate - Players can make longer lasting slow-paced rallies and can make most easy volleys and uses some backhands, but needs more work on developing shot strokes. Approaching the non-volley zone to hit volleys and is aware of the “soft game.” More consistent on the serve and service return and when returning medium-to fast paced balls. Demonstrates improved skills with all the basic shot strokes and shot placement but lacks control when trying for direction, depth, or power on their shots. Players rated 2.0-3.0.
8pm: Advanced - Players have improved stroke dependability with directional control on most medium-paced balls and some faster-paced balls and demonstrate improved control when trying for direction, depth and power on their shots. Reliable serves, lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys and can use spin shots with some success. Demonstrates 3rd shot strategies – drop shots, lobs, and fast-paced ground strokes. Can play the "soft game" and slow the game down if needed. Aggressive net play and teamwork in doubles is evident. Fully understands the rules of the game and can play by them. Players rated 3.0 and above.
